Department Head Biographies

General Manager
General Manager, Ginger, has a degree in Business Administration. She has over 20 years experience in real estate management, investments, and business. Her work at FitnessWorks began as Manager of KidWorks in 2003. She is a mother of two girls and wife to a school teacher. As an outdoor enthusiast she enjoys hiking, bicycling, swimming, kayaking and RV'ing with her family. Since starting her family she's been active in children's issues and volunteerism including three weeks with the Red Cross after Hurricane Katrina. Ginger now offers her talents to member services, employee mentoring, program development and maintenance of the facility.


Administrative Manager
Administrative Manager, Suzanne, received her bachelor's degree from Cal State Northridge and has worked for FitnessWorks since 1999. Suzanne started out as a physical therapy aide as well as working at the gym's front desk. As the business grew, she made the transition into management. With her knowledge of the company as a whole, Suzanne's current position allows her to interact with the different departments with the goal of making everyone's visit to FitnessWorks a positive experience. Suzanne currently lives on the Central Coast with her husband and two young children.


Front Desk Manager and Coordinator of Senior Programs
Front Desk Manager and Coordinator of Senior Programs, Trish, has a bachelors degree from Florida State University. She lived for 17 years in Boulder, Colorado, where she worked as a programmer analyst. She was active in skiing, rock climbing and fitness training. After an early retirement from computer work, she worked winters at a Colorado ski resort and rock climbed in California in the summers. She and her husband then lived for 7 years on a small sailboat cruising the U.S. East Coast and the islands of the Caribbean. This led to a job managing a small guest house on an island off the coast of Puerto Rico. She now resides in Morro Bay with her husband and 2 small dogs. When not playing golf or walking her dogs on the beach, she will be putting her energy and varied experience into promoting member satisfaction as well as assisting seniors in getting the most out of their fitness program at FitnessWorks.


KidWorks Manager
KidWorks Manager, Zoey, has a degree in early childhood education as well as over 10 years experience working with children including: director of a preschool and childcare center, substitute teacher, running the toddler room at a daycare center, and she previously worked in childcare at a fitness club in Illinois. Additionally, Zoey taught preschool and parent-tot gymnastics classes and she has run a church childcare program as well. She also owns her own dinner cruise business in Morro Bay, The Chablis. Zoey has three boys and along with her husband, Paul, the family stays busy participating in sports, 4-H and community programs. They moved here from Chicago a few years ago and love the Central Coast.


Lead Trainer
Lead Trainer, Lindsay, received her Personal Training Certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) in 2007. She is currently pursing a degree in Kinesiology and aspires to go on to get a Master's in Physical Therapy. Since she started at FitnessWorks in September of 2003, Lindsay has worked in nearly every department, including childcare, front desk, group fitness, and physical therapy. Her true passion in life is helping others and making others smile. As an outdoor/fitness enthusiast, Lindsay loves mountain biking, rock climbing, camping, photography, and anything challenging (besides sky diving).


Program Director / Group Fitness Manager
Program Director and Group Fitness Manager, Dani, began working at FitnessWorks in 2006 as a BodyPump instructor. As her enthusiasm for fitness grew, she became involved in many other aspects of FitnessWorks including teaching additional Group Fitness classes and becoming certified as a Personal Trainer. Dani is dedicated to providing an effective, safe, and fun place for members of any fitness level to achieve their goals. In her spare time, Dani loves to travel, spend time with her family and friends, and make jewelry.
